ARECC Class offered

An American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Amateur Radio Emergency Communication Course (ARECC) certificate of completion exam will be offered at Universal Radio on March 20, 2010.  The self study track for a course completion certificate is obtained through an exam given at the conclusion of self study or instruction. Those passing the exam are awarded with a course completion certificate.  This certificate provides local Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) clubs who are involved in local community emergency response with an indication of a student’s interest and understanding of the emergency communications environment and assures a common foundation of training. The fee for 2010 is the ARRL $15.00 cost for administering the exam and issuing certificates.

The Amateur Radio Emergency Communication, Level I Manual is available at Universal Radio as well as through the ARRL's website.

For more information or to register contact Bill, NE1LL at 614-726-5539 or ne1ll@arrl.net

501C3 Certification Approved

Congratulations LFCARC officers! Your hard work on the 501C3 has paid off. ED Campbell just informed me that he received the 501C3 approval letter and tax manual from the IRS. We are now a 501C3 tax exempt organization. Ed's computer is still down or he would have notified everyone.  Thanks Mark for leading the way on this. Mary thank you for all the hard work in getting the application written up and send in. And thank for handling the state for us also. Thanks to everyone on the committee for supporting the effort to get the 501C3 for us.  Thanks for a job well done.
