The Lancaster and Fairfield County Amateur Radio club hosts VE Exams
throughout the year.
Exams are held on the third (3rd) Sunday of the even month at the
clubhouse, see below:
Next scheduled date:
Sunday August 17, 2008.
Registration begins about 9:30
A.M. and testing begins at 10:00 A.M.
The following information is provided so that you will have a
successful exam session.
1. ID must include one: photo ID, original Social Security
card or original/notarized Birth certificate. Another form of ID
will be accepted for the second. There must be two forms
total. In the case of children, some other forms can be
accepted in place of the SS card and birth certificate.
2. Documentation presented must include the original and a
photocopy. Typically these are a current license and CSCE's.
CSCE's are valid for 365 days from date issued. Licensed
amateurs desiring to upgrade must use their FRN number on the
application instead of the Social Security number. Most
licenses show the FRN number.
3. The VE team will supply all forms, scrap paper, pencils
and pens. Applicants should supply their own calculator.
No PDA's are permitted.
4. The fee at this time is $14.
5. If special testing circumstances are requested (test
read to applicant for example) this must be arranged before the day
of the test.
6. All questions should be addressed to the VE Liaison
listed on the ARRL- VEC website for the L&FCARC VE team, not the
ARRL. The VE team cannot take your word for any third party
arrangements with the ARRL.
7. All applicants are responsible for checking the
completeness and correct information and spelling on their copy of
forms issued as result of testing.
If you have questions concerning testing or you need to arrange
for special circumstances please email our
